Winner of the Bob Calle 2021 Artist's Book Award
Pierre Leguillon for his book:

Ads.

2019, Triangle Books
ISBN: 9782930777320

Ads. (short for Advertisements in English), reproduces 70 pages of advertisements torn from various magazines for which artists have posed. From Marina Abramovic to Aaron Young. And from the 1940s to today. The artists here never promote exhibitions or their own work. The artists here never promote exhibitions or their work, but a brand of alcohol, clothes or television sets. We come across Salvador Dalí and Andy Warhol, but also artists less expected in this commercial setting such as Max Ernst, Jean Cocteau, Don McCullin or Louise Bourgeois...
This collection belongs to the Musée des Erreurs, founded in Brussels by Pierre Leguillon in 2013. The form of the book, where the artists are classified in alphabetical order, resembles the scrapbook of an amateur or a fan, with no page left blank. On the third cover, an index lists the artists and brands mentioned, with the date of publication of the advertisements.
Otherwise the book includes no text or commentary.
Matthew Higgs (director of White Columns in New York) posts a comment on Instagram about the book:
Destinated for classic status.
