The training program for Artists Intervening in the School Environment (AIMS), set up in 2010 by the Beaux-Arts de Paris, has been associating since 2016, the five major National Superior Schools of Art in Paris, members of the Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL) University: Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD), Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris (CNSMDP), École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (EnsAD), Beaux-Arts de Paris and École nationale supérieure des métiers de l'image et du son (Fémis).
The AIMS training program is aimed at young artists who have recently graduated from the five art schools. It aims to provide them with the complementary skills necessary for artistic intervention and project management in a school setting, while allowing them to develop their artistic practice. It is based both on the experience of an artistic project carried out with a class, and on a research project that must lead to a thesis. The subject of the thesis is the analysis of the specific role of the artist in the process of education and transmission based on the experience of the year.
AIMS is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Culture&Diversity Foundation, and the cities of Saint-Ouen and Gennevilliers. It is in line with the orientations of the plan in favor of artistic and cultural education of public policies and responds to the desire to promote access to artistic practices from elementary school.
This program leads to a post-graduate diploma for artists working in schools.
