Conversation about the book "Art schools that change the world", in partnership with AICA and the cycle "Between the lines, critical version".

 

Marc Partouche is an art historian and theorist, and an exhibition curator. He is Dean of the MeiAo Academy at the International Art and Design Center, Shenzhen (China). He has been director of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, director of the Académie royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles-Ecole Supérieure des Arts, scientific director of the Cité Internationale du Design, Saint-Etienne, advisor to the Délégué aux arts plastiques of the Ministère de la Culture and inspector general for research, technological creation and research of the Délégation aux arts plastiques of the Ministère de la Culture.

He has published, among others, Les écoles d'art qui changent le monde. Utopias et alternatives pédagogiques de 1815 à nos jours (Éditions Hermann, 2021), Marcel Duchamp, L'art commence au moment où j'allumume une cigarette (Éditions Hermann, 2018), Allais/Klein (Éditions Co-Op, 2018) and La Lignée Oubliée. Bohemia, avant-gardes and contemporary art (from 1830 to the present) (Éditions Hermann, 2017 and Al Dante éditions, 2004).

He is in dialogue with Alain Berland and François Salmeron.

François Salmeron is an art critic and treasurer of the board of AICA-France (International Association of Art Critics). Since 2012 he has contributed to French and international publications, including Le Quotidien de l'Art and its Hebdo.

He has been a programme assistant for "Les Nouveaux Chemins de la Connaissance" on France Culture and a journalist for Philosophie Magazine.

He is a lecturer at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (philosophy of art), as well as at the Department of Photography of the University of Paris 8 Saint-Denis (critical writing workshop). As a doctoral student at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (ED APESA), he is developing his research on environmental ethics and aesthetics, and is preparing a book on contemporary art and ecology (Caza d'Oro editions, to be published in late 2023).

He has published several collections of poetry, including Le Chasseur de Minuit (2007), Le Funambule (2009), Fréquences (2013), Je me suis tu (forthcoming). He also devotes himself to blues, jazz, rock and pop music as a drummer.
