Achille Mbembe is a professor of history and political science and a researcher at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research (WISER) at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg). Winner of the Ernst-Bloch Prize in 2018, his books include Sortir de la grande nuit (La découverte, 2010), Critique de la raison nègre (2013), Politiques de l'inimitié (2016) and Brutalisme (2020).
His latest book, La Communauté terrestre, has just been published by La Découverte.
