ENTRÉE LIBRE

Artist Vincent Barré talks to his guests - François Barré, Gabrielle Conilh de Beyssac, Sylvain Dubuisson, Gérard Dupaty, Cyril Neyrat and Mathieu Pilaud - about the notebooks he donated to the Beaux-Arts collection in Paris in 2023.

Born in 1948, Vincent Barré is an architect, town planner, visual artist, sculptor, film-maker, actor and teacher. At the École des Beaux-Arts, he was coordinator of the sculpture department (1987-1991) and the Master's programme (1991-1992), then head of the studio until 2011. Wishing to donate to the Beaux-Arts de Paris all the notebooks he has kept since 1973, he made an initial donation of 71 of them (1973-2000) in 2023.
These allow us to follow the artist's progress, his research and questioning, his transition from architecture to sculpture, his interest in the question of space and the role of his travels. They offer unparalleled access to his sources of inspiration and his creative process, and show in particular the important role played by drawing and writing.

The Collections parlées cycle features a work from the Beaux-Arts de Paris collection, inviting guests from different backgrounds to revisit it.
