Thematic visit of the exhibition Scribble / Scarabocchio - From Leonardo da Vinci to Cy Twombly by two artists who graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris, Bianca Argimón and Elvire Caillon.
After training at the Arts Décoratifs, the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Bianca Argimón took part in five artistic residencies, including the Fondation d'Entreprise Hermès in France and the Casa de Velázquez in Madrid. She has participated in several group exhibitions, including: Tighthead Prop (Bendana-Pinel Gallery, Paris 2012); Le Nouveau Monde Industriel (Galleria Continua, Les Moulins, 2016); Beyond Nature (Sophie Scheidecker Gallery, Paris, 2017); Mademoiselle (CRAC, Sète, 2018); Les Mains Sans Sommeil (Palais de Tokyo, Paris and Le Forum, Tokyo, 2018); Le vent se lève (MACVAL, 2020/21), Ce à quoi nous tenons (Lambert Collection, Avignon, 2022). She has also presented several solo exhibitions including: Pour les essais sur les effets de la foudre (galerie L'inlassable, Paris, 2015); Going South (Iconoscope & Drawing Room at la Panacée, Montpellier, 2018); Par Anomie (galerie Mansart, Paris); Error 404 (centre culturel Jean Cocteau, Les Lilas, 2020) and Catharsis (Le Portique, Le Havre, 2022).
Winner of the Alphonse Cellier prize from the Académie des Beaux-Arts in 2013, Bianca Argimón graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Paris with honours in 2015 and won the contemporary drawing prize from the Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2016. She took part in the 61st edition of the Salon de Montrouge and in 2018 received the Lafayette Anticipation prize during Drawing room at La Panacée, Montpellier.
Elvire Caillon composes her work using multiple languages: from drawing to painting, from printed images to live performances.
Her dual training at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the École Estienne has led to numerous collaborations in various fields: clothing, music, the press, publishing, theatre and gastronomy.
His work has been noticed at the Salon de Montrouge, supported by several residencies in France and awarded the Prix de dessin contemporain des Beaux-Arts de Paris in 2013. Her work has been the subject of various collaborations with curators such as Jean-Christophe Arcos, Théo-Mario Coppola, Stéphane Corréard, Anne Dary, Françoise Docquiert, Elisa Farran, Gaëlle Rageot.
She has received support from the Cité internationale des Arts, the Centre National des Arts Plastiques, the Abbaye Royale de Fontevraud, the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers, the Fondation Lafayette Anticipations and the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès.
In 2022, she conceived her first project for the stage, in collaboration with the visual artist Léonard Martin. The show K minuscule was created in March 2022 at the Théâtre de la Cité Internationale in Paris as part of the "New Settings" programme of the Fondation Hermès.
In 2023 she will participate in the group exhibition Voir en peinture, la jeune figuration en France curated by Anne Dary, Gaëlle Rageot and Elisa Farran, presented at the MASC in Les Sables d'Olonne, at the Musée Estrine in Saint-Rémy de Provence and at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Dôle until 2024.
