Vivere Memento
Daniel Nicolaevsky Maria a toujours été inspiré par la nature et ses mouvements. Les plantes d'intérieur et leurs mouvements ont notamment attiré son regard lors du confinement du printemps 2020.
"Dans la chambre d’isolement et confinement j’observe des plantes qui, comme moi, migrent et s’enracinent au-delà de notre terre originaire" explique l'artiste.
Des fleurs séchées, des plantes d’Amérique du Sud et Asie, des horloges tissées dont le temps découle à l’envers et des fruits donnent à voir une composition abstraite sur la vie. Chacune des trois vidéos a été tournée pendant environ vingt-quatre heures. Vingt-quatre heures de mouvement alors qu’une inertie totale avait été demandée à la société pour son plus grand bien.
"Vivere Memento" rappelle la vie, en traduction littérale du latin, souvenez-vous que vous êtes en vie.
Daniel Nicolaevsky Maria has always been inspired by nature and its movements. In particular, houseplants and their movements caught his eye during the spring 2020 confinement.
“In the isolation and confinement room, I observe plants that, like me, migrate and take root beyond our native land,” explains the artist.
Dried flowers, plants from South America and Asia, woven clocks with time running backwards, and fruit give an abstract composition on life.
Each of the three videos was shot over a period of around twenty-four hours. Twenty-four hours of movement, while total inertia was demanded of society for its own good.
“Vivere Memento” is a literal translation of the Latin word for life: remember that you're alive.
